A lesson in self-love
Thanks again, sweetie! I do love this spread, and am glad others do, too!

New blog post up, about all my fun after 2 weeks of projects and stress!

Reflections on autumn finally hitting the desert. Created on the couch, as my back is in knots!
Work in my journal, last night and today.
I’ve claimed this one, even though I haven’t worked in a non-spiral journal in years. I made this in one of my bookbinding classes (that should be starting again in October!) and decided it was perfect for a trip. I hope to journal all my photos and random stuff from my life-changing trip to Florida.
I’m also trying to become more comfortable with white space. I’ve always felt like I need to cover every inch of a page or painting, but am learning to be looser, okay with a bit of the unfinished. This is what your journal is for, though - a safe place to play around, the mirror before the mirror, or maybe it’s your bathroom mirror, where you see yourself as you are, not as you think you should.
Some art made on vacation to tide you over until I’m well enough to properly interact on the internets again. ;)
For Your Protection… 9”x12” mixed-media on wood.
I’ve been thinking of it, ever since I came up with my awesome idea of what to have on my blog during my vacation, and wonder if it’d be cool to get people together to post images of raw moments of truth and ordinary courage, whether in art, life, or the simple moments.
That’d be fun, don’t you think? I have more than enough Mixed Media paper, stamps, and goodies to give away (I’ve been collecting things, sent things, & more to share with all you!). It’d be better than just a give-away on YouTube because we’d be building something together.
